Lavochkin La-5

The La-5 was one of the best Russian dogfighters of the war. Designed to make use of non-strategic materials, it was built almost entirely of plywood, which just shows what a determined person can accomplish for a few bucks at Home Depot. Sadly, because the wood was untreated, only two La-5's survive today, the rest having become termite food long ago.
